On the beautiful harbour in Victoria, sandwiched between two big parking lots -- which is a horrible waste of land in what could otherwise be a great part of the city -- Red Fish, Blue Fish shows what our harbour could and should look like. I suspect it's allowed to be there, built out of shipping containers rather than being a normal building because this land is administered by the Harbour Authority, so I'll contact the city to ask.

I really enjoy the food at Red Fish Blue Fish, as well as the view and the general ambiance of the area. A lot of other people do too, which is why there is often a line-up. I don't like waiting in line, but I am happy about the line because it means Red Fish will be around for a while, and hopefully it will motivate other businesses to open in the harbour too. That whole area of the harbour could be like Pike Place market in Seattle, with outdoor farmer's markets, cafes, restaurants, and maybe even a little pub like the White Horse.
