cow and condo

cow and condo

The most noticeable thing in India is the contrasts. The cow in the foreground munches on a pile of rubbish, while workers in the background build a condo. I've seen people feed the cows banana peels and human food, like the time a big cow come to a dhaba in Madurai while we were eating dosas. Cows also look through the rubbish piles for a snack when they get hungry. Even though the condo looks very Western, and it uses concrete, each floor is built on a support of tied tree branches (I'll post a photo of this), and then filled in with bricks. Indian buildings are often quite solid, except when they're like the shack in the foreground, which might blow away in a stiff wind.
